Does anyone know why we find chickens' eggs in the garden?

For a few years my Grandma has been finding chickens' eggs buried in her garden when she is gardening, under the soil (which hasn't been disturbed). They have those red lion egg stamps on them so they are not fresh from the chicken. She doesn't live near a farm and nobody could really get into her garden to play a prank on her. Yesterday, her neighbour found one in her garden too. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
 
nope no idea, maybe somone put the there a long time ago. or someone really is playing a prank...... pretty sad prank if it is one
