Does anyone know why sanyo and zennith tv's lasted forever?

My grandpa's sanyo tv has lasted for 32 years today and he watches hi def on it plays playstation3 all the time and it looks incredible and my grandma had a zennith and it lasted 46 years, Ok how does all the old tvs work great look great and new tvs dont even last 5 years someone answer me cuz i really need to know this
