Does anyone know why a honda element would stop running as one turned the wheel

to turn onto another street? It wasn't raining at the time, but it had been raining all week.

At first, the car didn't start right away, meaning the ignition sounded weak from the beginning, and I thought that was strange. It took three tries to start the engine. Then, it drove fine, until I went to turn right and the motor just stopped. There were no bumps on the road, nor any difficult ramps for the car to climb. I put the car in park, and restarted the engine - again, it sounded weak, but the car moved forward, so I thought it was ok. Then I went to turn into the driveway, turning left, and it did the same exact thing - just stopped. Of course, I repeated myself by putting the car in park and restarting the engine so I could finish parking it in the driveway. And that is where I left it for now.
Neither the gas, nor the brakes worked both times. The dashlights/all lights on the car were weakening and the power steering was gone each time.
What do you think?

Probably one of the pulleys is hard to turn (power steering pump pulley?), your battery is getting week or your alternator is not charging right.

Good luck.

almost dead battery...probably need a new one but bring it to the car dealer and they may be able to get your stuff free although it is unlikely and how did you drive without gas or brakes?

sounds like u alternator has gone bad or u have e very weak battery,it could just be a coincidence that it shut off when u turned.but to check ur alternator if it is good or not, start the car and pull the positive batter cable off,if the car stays running ur alternator is good.if it shuts off its bad.it really hard to say what ur problem could be i hoped this helped out in someway.
