the manual says 2.9qt under change and 6.2qt under total... so im guessing that means im replacing 2.9qt... well i figured put in 3 unless thats a bad thing... its an auto tranny... am i lucky enough to have a drain plug on it or do i have to take the pan off? ohh and do i need a new filter? i was going to change it but i was told i dont need to... 113,000+ and i have yet to have this done
and what kind of filter should i get??

I would change both the fluid and the filter and gasket all at the same time. With a car that has high mileage I would look into some of the higher end trans fluid like royal purple.

civics dont come with pans
its just a bolt where u take off and the fluid comes out
after that put bolt in
fill up fluid about 3qt and then measure your dipstick
check both sides and the one with the lowest fluid is the correct one
if not enough fill in and keep reading
after that you're good to go
