does anyone know what happens in truancy court?

how long does it take to process if i got a letter in the mail and i didnt have to sign for it.it was from the assisantprincipal of the school and she wrote it out the same day my child was enrolled in homeschool programs and with dran from school.and i recived a letter from the school yesterday non certified.could it just be a scare letter?or will i get one coming from the courts?please help someone
