Does anyone know the title or author of this poem?

I read this poem in school last spring and I liked it so much I wrote it down. I suddenly remembered it and went searching through all my old school folders but I couldn't find it. All I remember was that it was about two brothers who go up to the top of their roof? I think it was at night, and I'm pretty sure they mention something about lying on newspapers, and it's summer and they come on the roof every night but this will be the last time for awhile because the older brother is going off to war the next day. And I can't remember but I think they talk about the sunrise, and I thought it was foreshadowed that the brother would die in the war. I'm pretty sure it came with a picture too of them on the roof (I found it in a big book of a ton of poems from different people) and I don't know if it was implied but I always pictured it during WWI or WWII. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Oh and it was told in first person by the younger brother, if that helps. Please, I checked all my folders again, and I cannot find it! I know I put it in my folder, I don't know what would have happened to it...
