It was a fantasy book I read when I was a teenager about a land covered in rust (or dead, the color of rust?) and there were specific items or relics that were being searched for. Some type of cauldron that killed whomever climbed in, but required a willing participant. There was also a harp that healed the lands when played, a girl named Rhiannon, a couple with an orchard filled with exotic, delicious fruits that the 2 characters climbed the trees and ate the fruit, surrounded by the wasteland.
The cauldron did not play a major role as I remember it. The characters were trying to retrieve certain items that were required to heal the lands, that I think an evil leader had scorched or something along those lines. I think there was also another book after the first telling of the travels playing the harp and healing the lands?
