Sadly true. The film really didn't try. Although I enjoyed it well enough, recent films like Batman Begins show how to do a comic book film properly. And something like the Incredibles shows how to do a proper tongue in cheek superhero film.
There was a good dash of humour in it tho', something that's often missed out.
I think they were hoping to ride on the popularlity of the comic book films at the mo'/people going for the sake of it/the possibility of seeing Jessica Alba in her pants.
Did it even make that much money? Can't remember reading much about it.
