I live in upstate NY recently moved back from VT where I lived with the father of my son. Now I am in the process of filing for custody but the father is a very manipulative person and my comfort level would severely increase if I had a lawyer however do to the circumstances I'm unable to afford one. Does anyone know of any programs provided by the state of NY that will either provide myself or my child for a lawyer in our defense.
