Does anyone know of good camping places around the lake district (UK)?

one of the best sites ive camped at is near keswick,its called castlerigg farm campsite, you can look it up.i dont think they get much better than this camp site.
 
Hi,

Me and my friend where thinking of going away for the weekend in May and as we both like camping we have decided to do that.

We normally go camping in Scotland but for a change we have decided to go to the Lake District.

We would love to go somewhere that is on or very near a lake and somewhere that we could have a small campfire.

I know many campsites don't allow fires anymore and many of the more remote places have started to ban them. Its just not the same without a small fire.

If anyone knows of a nice place (It doesn't have to be an actual campsite) then It would be great if you could recommend anywhere to us.

We will be going by car and we are not to bothered about facilities/shops etc. Although if there's a nice country pub then all the better!
