Does Anyone Know If (TMNT Related)

I've heard that the odds of a sequel are very good. The real question about it is: Was Karai right about one of the Turtles' "faces from the past" showing up, and will it in fact be Shredder?

The last report I heard was that Imagi has solidified March 2010 as the date for the sequel.

I still find it funny that EVERY SINGLE Ninja Turtles movie has come out during March.

Actually, 2010 is a filibuster date. If Imagi does not produce a sequel by then Mirage can take the license elsewhere. Right now Imagi is stalling when it comes to sequel talk beyond rejecting all Mirage script proposals and making abstract statements about making the Turtles "even funnier". You can read more about it at 5th turtle I'm sure.

And no, Bebop and Rocksteady will never appear in any new form, as they are owned by Fred Wolf Productions (I don't know if Playmates still has the toy rights, but I'd imagine they'd have to pay extra fees to make toys of them.)

I adored Mikey in the last movie! The dude is a legend!

I thought Bebop and Rocksteady at first, but then I remembered they weren't in the original movies, only simular characters am I right?

Maybe it's somehow the Japanese warriors somehow from the 3rd film? Would have been awesome if it was the technodrome but that sadly was also the cartoon series.

Or maybe it's Walker?

I thought 2007 TMNT Mikey was adorable to be honest. A little spacey, I'll admit, but still funny and kick ass like he was in the original live action trilogy. You want a bastardization of Michelangelo, then take a look at how he is in the 2003 toon (annoying, horrible fighter, constantly needs to be saved, never learns his lesson, isn't funny, need I go on?.

That's doubtful, as Rocksteady and Bebop were created for the 1987 syndicated series and Peter Laird most likely doesn't want the movies to be anything like the syndicated TV series.

I don't think there's a sequel coming. Why? IMAGI movies right now can't keep directors, writers, or a release date. These guys aren't Pixar.

Exactly. Gatchaman was supposed to come out this year, but apparently hasn't even started being made.

Astro Boy'll hopefully have a chance of coming out, though, but I doubt Imagi will last beyond that.

Well Munroe and the producer (Grayson?) said the movie would have to do about $100 million or more to get a sequel. They weren't specific if that meant worldwide or US or DVD or whatever.

I honestly don't believe TMNT is that lucrative of a movie property anymore.

Also its pretty clear that Munroe is no longer directing TMNT 2, Gatchaman, or anything else IMAGI. Something stinks about all of this to be honest.

All sides want a sequal. it's in the best interrest of all the parties to release one. Look at how it regenerated Playmate's struggling toyline (they botched with endless irrelivant varients). The problem is they need to get a film that meets Laird's approval. And so far, they didn't get a proposal he liked. So they've got one more chance there.
