...the cd for reinstall? The Windows XP authenticity label on the back of the computer is mostly rubbed off so I used a keyfinder to find out what the key was for the pre installed OS. The key that showed up is not like the parts of the key that didn't rub off on the label.
I called Dell and asked them if the license key would work with the CD and they refused to tell me yes or no because the computer is 4 months out of their warranty. Its still in the extended warranty with Best Buy, but if they wipe the computer to fix my problem, I still won't know if this pre installed key will work.
The computer still works but it is in need of a reinstall and the "Ctrl/F11" thing isn't working to reload directly from the computer.
Oh, this is on a Dell Inspiron mini running Windows XP Home Edition SP3
Thank you.
