Does anyone know how to decode Windows Live chat logs without having to login?

Does anyone know how to decode Windows Live chat logs without having to login? I tried a lot of decoding software, but none of them worked. And the only one which I didn't have the chance to try is Messenger Archive Viewer because every time I open it, it tells me that there's a new version for download and closes.
Finally, I have to mention that I found the log files in Users\MyUser\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Messenger but I can't figure it out how to read them.
