Does anyone know how to appeal a military drug test?

I went to the MEPS in LA last week and tested positive for amphetamines! I am in no way, shape, or form on any drugs. I was sick the entire previous week and taking OTC sinus/head cold meds. I know those can cause false positives so is there anyway I can appeal the drug test? They want to drop me b/c of this and I am devastated!
I did tell them at the MEPS that I was taking OTC meds! It is on my medical record that I am on them. I asked the MD if there was a chance that it would throw the test and she said 'No'. I also wasn't told I was going to be drug tested. I was just going for a physical and wasn't aware that I was going to be drug tested that day. I wouldn't have taken the meds if I would have known that.

No appeal, wait 6 months (time standard maybe different). Apply for a waiver and if granted you can try again. You must have been taken allot of sinus meds. There are direction on the back. If you were taken more than was recommended or prescribed that is considered drug abuse in the eyes of the Military.

Well, you need to have a HAIR TEST done- if you have an in depth hair study done for the past 6 months or so- or even 3 months- that would over ride the militarys "Pee in a cup, you're positive" 20 dollar urine test.

Then, when given this they will be forced to throw out their test.

Good Luck

Tell your recruiter to request a waiver based on what you stated and they may retest you but honestly, this is your own fault. You knew you were going to MEPS but you still took medication? Why? A cold is just a cold. Snotty nose or headache is well worth it. I seriously didn't take any OTC meds for a year because I knew I had intentions of joining.
