Does anyone know how to adjust valves on a 1995 Honda Civic dx with a 1.5 engine?

I just changed the head on the motor, it started ticking. Someone told me that I had to adjust the valves because the machine shop didn't do it.

Get a feeler gauge, frat blade screw driver and a 12 mm wrench. If you have some one to help you it makes it easier. With the valve cover removed bump the engine with the starter while watching the high side of the cam. When the cam lobe is down, that is the time to check for proper clearance.010 or .012 Look it up to be sure which clearance applies to your engine. If too loose or too tight, loosen the 12 mm nut and adjust as required with feeler gauge between the cam and the rocker. Tighten and recheck, this may take several tries to get correct setting. Move on to the next one and repeat the process until all valves are properly adjusted.
