Does anyone know how long it takes for financial aid to verify the documents?

I've been selected for verification at first not knowing what it meant so my fafsa was on file since July 24th and I went back and changed it on september 10th because I thought something was wrong and than I went back and changed it on september 11th and now I think im pretty sure what they mean by the fact that they have to verify my fafsa but just to be sure that I understand what they mean

What does fafsa mean when they say i've been selected for verification?
Is there anything I should be worried about?
How long does this process take?

Thanks everyone...

It means the school wants to see proof of what your reported on your fafsa. They want copies of your tax returns, your parents' or spouse's tax returns, and a signed statement of income and assets and possibly other items such as divorce decrees or proof of legal separation.

They should have sent you a letter stating what they require. Or it may be posted on their website under your financial aid log in. If you haven't received a letter and can't find the requirements online, call your financial aid adviser.

Approximately 30% of all financial aid applications are randomly selected for verification. Don't panic. They should clear you within a few days of your providing them with everything that they're asking for.
