heads heads for a Dodge Durango? We have a 2001 Dodge Durango that began missing. So far the bill from the mechanic is up to around $2,000 and it still won't run. Now we are being told two of the cylinder heads are warped and will have to be rebuilt . They don't do this themselves and said the cost from the machine shop will depend on what they have to do and it might take a week before they find out, because of the "holiday". It's the only car we have and we can't just tell them to stop and give us back our car. We would still have to pay them and then start this process all over again. We could do that, then sue them but if we can't pay for the repairs we as sure to heck can't pay an attorney while we are stuck with a car that still don't run. I feel like a hamster on one of those wheels. There is just no good place to jump off. I know there are some great mechanics out there so if you have any idea what we are dealing with any and all suggestions would be appreciated. We had to sell our Trail Blazer because we had so many medical bills we could no longer make the pmt. Now we have no car amd a bill I don't know how we can pay. The Durango is a 2001 4.7 liter V8 with dual overhead cams. According to the mechanic this was all caused by the former owner who put stop leak in a radiator which you can't do unless it is an old copper kind, which it isn't. The car never showed it was overheating so we had no clue we had a problem until we ended up with a lot of problems. I had no idea that hot water and antifreeze wetting down an engine could cause all of these. So if you are tempted to try that to save money, don't. I sure wouldn't want anyone else to have this type of problems. Thank you all.
