No, I hadn't heard of him. However, usually when I meet someone who claimed they used to be an atheist but 'saw the light', what they mean by atheist was 'I didn't go to church' or 'my parents didn't believe in god', or 'I hated god', not 'I thought about it long and hard and realized there's no good evidence for a god'. I'm sure it would be interesting to listen to him talk - the Baptist student ministry on my campus manages to invite a creationist speaker once a year or so, and it's always interesting to listen to. Of course, they don't do a great job of answering questions, and if a church is hosting them, they might not let you ask questions at all. I seem to remember church isn't big on questions.
