Does anyone know any good dance theme ideas?

My sophomore grade is holding a school dance for grades 7-12 in early march. Im partly in charge of it and i need help on ideas and themes!! Our school only ever has 2 dances a year homecoming (casual) & prom (formal), so i want it to be a blast! Idk to make it semi formal or casual? plz help!!
 
Renaissance/masquerade ball
Have every one wear a mask that they create.Have a contest for most creative one.
encourage everyone to thrift store shop and get a formal with a vintage style from that era feel. this will help DISCORAGE all the shirts to the navel and plunging neck and back lines.Host a dance class for waltz before the dance also have some class talent djs (there are alot now teens can do wonders with a COMPUTER )do fusion of classics with hip hop fusion of classical renissance era tunes with techno compositions record and summit also for a compitition. play this music.Serve "turkey legs or chicken legs to mock the food of the time big fruit center pcs.
