Does anyone know about the Samsung Rogue?

I tried it at the Verizon store, and thought the set up was similar to the Droid but smaller and such..
Is Samsung crappy? Any problems with this phone?
If so, what do you reccomend?

is there a required data plan? is it worth it
but the 10$ a month fee would raise the cost so much..
