Does anyone keep their ferret outdoors?

I know what people say. My husband just moved them outdoors and weather proofed their cage, they have tons of warm things to sleep in and they are free to roam inside the house when they want. Everyone says it's cruel. I personally want to keep them inside but my husband is against them being in 100%. Don't ask why, too many reasons to go into details. ANYWAYS. Everyone says it's cruel, but will they be fine as long as they stay happy, healthy and warm with tons of love everyday?

Yes you can but it cuts like ten years off there life they live for about 12 to14 years an keeping them outside they live for about 2 to 3 years

just make sure their cage, food, and water all stays fresh and clean and that they are warm. dont let a dog or cat or anything get to them either and they get enough attention =D

as long as you don't live in a climate where it gets very cold or very hot. and if you give them AT LEAST 3 hours of free time and interaction a day. make sure they have lots of things to play with so they don't get bord, maybe an out door play pen made of four sheets of plywood held together with bricks on the out side to play with when they get tired of the cage.
but if your hubby really disagrees with having the ferrets you should consider rehousing them to a place where they can live inside, especially if you live in a hot or very cold climate its not cruel, just think of your fuzzy's well being its up to you .
do you have a garage or basement maybe?
