2wd EFI 22R? Does anyone have pictures of where the starter relay is on an 86' toyota pickup 2wd EFI 22R?
I replaced the starter because it was taking about a half minute for the car to turn over. I was caught driving drunk in 07' and was not able to get my car running until I had an ignition interlock device installed n the car no way around that so lets continue, "but not before adding this note on ignition interlock devices".. "I think the ignition interlock device has reduced either the amperage or the voltage to the starter". Anyhow, I ended up replacing the starter because I ended up having to tap it (by this I mean hitting it with a hammer) with a long bar and a hammer to get it to engage. Now with the new starter I am having to tap one of the connections to the starter solenoid "the smaller guage wire", to the positive battery terminal every time I want the car to engage. I cleaned all the connections and it engaged once without having to tap the cable to the positive end. I am at my wits end. I am thinking of purchasing a remote starter switch in the meantime so I don't have to keep physically connecting the cable to the positive on the battery.
