does anyone else think this is weird? or is it just me?

so i added this guy i work with on facebook. its been like 2 weeks since i worked with him again today and he says to me, "oh i dont mean to offend you by not accepting your friend request. my girlfriend is just jealous and she'd be like ' who is that!?'" so im thinking to myself...um...okay?? i really dont think you have all guy friends on your facebook and im SURE you probably have other people we work with as your friend. so yeah, he denied me. like WTF? did he think i only wanted to add him because i wanna date him? because thats what he made it seem. i just wanted to be friends with him...what the hell.
 
What he meant was, his girlfriend is very insecure and is going to think you're going to try and hit on him so she won't let him accept your friend request.
