Does anyone else get offended when their spouse says something they cooked is just

"okay"? I think I'm a really good cook. I love my cooking and I love to do it. I've worked in the restaurant business my entire adult life and have picked up a lot of gourmet cooking techniques. I also have knack for throwing ingredients together and making up recipes on my own.

99% of the time when I make something new, and I ask my husband how he likes it, he very apathetically replies "It's okay". Tonight when I made a new recipe for dinner I asked him how he liked it and he said "Not too bad" which is about as enthusiastic as he gets about my cooking. When we first started dating, he thought I was a great cook and ranted and raved about almost everything I made. Maybe I raised the bar too high, and he expected everything that came out of the kitchen to be a gourmet meal. I don't know...

Anyway, am I being too sensitive? Should I just learn to accept that "It's okay" really means "I like it" and "Not too bad" really means "this is the best thing I've ever tasted!"
