okay well, this is not THAT weird i guess but when i was in 8th grade in like 2002 i was stretching one day, and the coach didn't know most of us yet. He yelled out "hey pete!" and for some reason i looked up (my name is jimmy). So he said "i don't know what thehell your name is so i'm calling you pete from now on." And for the next couple years i was known as Pete, Petey, and any other combination of the name.
Another nickname i got later in life: I was in a band in Ohio in 2008 and we were playing lots of shows and getting a decent name for ourselves. People loved our music and as the singer naturally i was the craziest at our parties. My name being legally james and last name ending in -son so somehow because of all the drinking i was doing someone messed up one day and called me Jameson. That one stuck for quite a while too. not from a sports team i know..but still cool..or not..maybe..hahah
