Does anyone else find this peculiar?

Feminists usually insist that gender is a social construct, that gender roles and male and female behavior are dictated by culture and society.

And yet, when anyone makes generalizations contrasting the behaviors and attitudes of American women with those of women from other parts of the world, suddenly they're acting as if it were inconceivable that different cultures could produce women with different attitudes who interact differently in terms of love, romance, and relationships.

I find that very odd.
