...case against Christianity..? Yeah even the Devil knows the Bible...i just find it ironic. Oh and i love it when they quote scripture...maybe one of these times a little light will go on...John3:16

Do you not find it humorous that Christians must read the bible to argue against atheists, as most don't know half of it?

I answer your question with a question: What is God's name? (in English)

I also find it quite humorous when creationists try to dispute evolution by talking about monkeys, when they don't understand the facts. It works both ways.
And even after looking at scripture a lot, no light has gone on. The only light was that the whole thing doesn't make sense to me at all. I guess I've always been a rational thinker.

I stopped believing in the Christian god which I was brought up to believe in at 9
I knew it was very silly then and argued against it. Â*

But to argue any point u must understand the other persons side. Â* Â*

In order to argue something, one must first know what it is he's arguing about.

I find no humor in people arguing in legitimate and effective ways.

But in any case, hit me up to have a serious discussion about Christianity. My knowledge of the Bible has actually turned me away from Christianity and lead me towards a more meaningful truth... Back when I was a Christian, a little light went on...

I dare you to lead me back to Christianity. Or at least email me with some thoughts.

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17.
Perhaps arguing with me will strengthen your faith. PUT YOUR FAITH TO THE TEST.

By the way I'm not an atheist.

Well, wouldn't it be nice if creationists actually knew the science they were attempting to argue?
At least atheists aim to be knowledgeable.

I find it ironic that we know ur contradicting bible better than you do ,and I for one haven't even read the damn thing from cover to cover, and u probably have!

Maybe one of these times when you hear scientific facts/evidence/logic being presented to you and a little light will go on!?!?! Unlikely but maybe...

First you must understand that the Bible is a very rich text. In Ezekiel it talks about large donkeys that have intercourse with
young woman. So we must use this and other rich information
when arguing scripture.

guess what. i can pick up a history book that descibes christianity as being a religion that believes the earth to be 6000 years old and i can also pick up a science book that says otherwise. all without every touching a bible

I find it funny that they can't make any good arguments without taking something from the bible. I haven't seen a single argument that didn't involve stealing something from the bible.

If we don't look biblical things up christians say we don't know what we're talking about. If we do you say something like that or that we're secretly trying to find god. It's lose-lose, but personally I'd rather know what i have to deal with then go in blind.

There is no Devil = There is no God. You know, the real irony of it all is that many atheists had religion instilled in them at an early age. These people went on to grow up & throw off the shackles of circular thought. See? That's when the "little light" went on.
I was raised going to church for choir practice, music director's pet, prayer circle, candlelight vigil, or some damm reason nearly every night of the week. This went on for 13 years. I didn't feel anything after being "saved" 8 times, & I certainly know my Bible. Gawd knows I had to read it enough!

Oh, and John 3:16 is SOooo overrated.

Where's this rule about reading the Bible?

Besides, a lot of people read it as a Christian and then that turns them away. Not to mention, if we weren't reading it, then we'd be getting messages telling us to read it. Wait. We already get those anyway.

So what do you want?

No, actually I don't. If you have ever done debate, research is critical. You must know your topic inside and out, and be able to see both sides of the story, then argue and persuade your point using the given context.

Just like in English class, you have to PROOVE your statement; Justify it. It makes no sense to argue about something and say. "I think this, because I said so." It makes you an inadequate debater to do so.
