No, we're in quite a bit different times. He (Obama) may look to see how Lincoln handled things during the Civil War, but everything is different now, from the names and faces of our enemies, to our communications, our weapons, how we handle diplomatic issues.
Racism will not be ended merely with Obama's election, unfortunately. It's still ingrained in people, and it's taught from parent to child. Someday the practice of discrimination based on skin color will be gone, but not any time soon. Unfortunately.
