Hey everyone, my little sis is gonna buy a car and she almost went for the MSRP but luckily i was with her and told her to wait until i could find out all the info i can. I don't want the INVOICE price that is listed on edmunds.com or kbb.com, i know and they know those aren't the actual prices that the dealership actually pays. Anyways the model she is interested in is the base 5 door 2009 Toyota Yaris with the power windows and steel wheels package, MSRP is 15605, INVOICE is 14649 and theres no way in hell i'm gonna let her pay either of those two prices. Keep in mind thats just the price for the car, taxes and tags and not negotiable as well as the destination fee unless anyone knows a way around that. So again, does anybody know or has anybody purchased the same model recently? Thanks in advance!

Peace
Oh and i forgot to mention that she'll be paying for the whole purchase upfront in cash or check, she doesn't want any payments even though i've tried explaining to her some of the benefits of having payments since it could help build some credit, but money isn't really an issue for her, she just wants the damn car.

Funny you ask this... I was just in a Toyota dealer tonight going over the costs for a 2008 and 2009!

If you want a cheaper car, you'lll have to get the cheaper model.. like the CE Manual? I don't believe (at least this is what our salesman told me) you can negotiate the cost of the vehicle, not at least until the 2010's come out... If you don't buy the car now, someone else will.. However, you You can negotiate the cost of the 2008's....They want them OFF the lot... (there is also a $1000 Eco Rebate on the 08's)

You CAN however, negotiate the extras.. Like "I'm not buying this car unless you give me, free floor mats, tinted windows, vent shades, yada yada, things like that) THEY CAN work with you there...

EDIT:::::: not that they CAN'T negotiate the cost of the car, they in most cases WON'T.. Selling it at a lower cost, is lowering their cut on the sell...

If you can, go to a more experienced salesman, they have more leeway, and have more pull with the supervisors (with whom does the approving of ALL sales...)
