Does anybody know if poetry.com is a scam?

So I submitted a poem about 2-3 months ago, and now they want me to buy this book that my poem will be in if I give my consent, and they just sent me a letter saying that they want me to become a member of the International Society Of Poets, I just want to know what is going to happen, I don't want my work stolen. Please tell me any experience you have had with this website. thanks and Merry Christmas to ALL!!

I submitted a poem as well got the same thing. Yes they will publish it in a book.

DId you ever read that Dave Barry column where he sent an absolutely ridiculous poem to poetry.com and they sent him a letter of acceptance, so he sent an even more ridiculous poem about how he was accepted and they sent him another letter of acceptance. It was hilarious. I'll see if I can find you a link.

Absolutely. I've heard all kinds of stories. I entered a poem about 2-3 years ago on poetry.com's poetry contest. It was misspelled, and stupid. They said it was a finalist, and wanted to put it in their book. But for a price of 46 dollars... then other fees of course. Try allpoetry.com.
