Does anybody believe that arguing about religion on Yahoo Answers does any good?

All people do is either ask questions to incite the other side or questions that they want a specific answer for. Atheists are guilty, Muslims and Christians are guilty. Has anybody ever had their mind changed by something they read on Yahoo?

Yes, I think it does a lot of good. Bickering may be annoying, but the communications going on here can have a positive effect.

When I started here in January of 2006, I considered myself a witch. But my husband/high priest had just committed suicide, and I knew I was going to have to reassess everything he had taught me in the light of that fact. Asking and answering questions here led me to realize that many witches took their beliefs much more seriously than I did. Indeed, I reconnected with the lady who had initiated me, and discovered that she had developed into quite an elder, teacher, priestess and writer while I was ignorant of most of what was going on in the pagan community.

I noted that my own interpretation of pagan symbols and myths was much more abstract and intellectual, not really belief at all. I therefore decided the more accurate description of my position was atheist. I do not regret this decision.
