I bought an trek 820 size 13.5, should I have gotten a different bike that is aluminum for the same price which is 330$
I got the trek 2009 820 for riding 5-12miles and racing against my friends, should I have got a different bike that's aluminum for the same price which is 330 dollars

Aluminum is usually lighter, although the better deal, depends on the other components of the bike. It also depends on what brand the aluminum bike was.
This isn't your question but I have to include it. :)

I would suggest a Brooks saddle, although it's leather and seems as if it would be the least comfortable, it is by far the best saddle I've ever owned; both long lasting and comfortable.
