Does a treadmill and bicycle help make progress for a 6 pack?

I am 14, 185 pounds, 6'0 height i think. My new years resoultion was to try and accomplish getting a 6 pack or somewhere near that, my body is flabby under, but not beer belly, so i was thinking, i have a treadmill and bicycle in my basment, will running and cycling for an hour or two at least take the fat off and the rest can be taken care of at my gym, all these years i wasnt commited, now i really am, come someone come up with a suggestion or rountine everyday for me to do, im thinking half and hour on the treadmill and half on the bike with 20 pushups before and after will help?
