Does a Pontiac GXP V8 not have a fuel filter?

I can't find one on line. No engine lights are on. Car takes 15-20 seconds to crank.
Once it cranks, it will restart fine. Thought I would start with filter, but can't locate one. Thanks
I haven't seen the car, I'm looking online for the part.

It's probably a bad/worn fuel pump. Yes, the one in the gas tank. Especialy if you have run out of gas, or run very low on fuel in the tank.
The fuel is what lubricates the pump and cools it.
If the pump ran dry, it's "toast".
It's not pumping gas fast enough, or it's not holding fuel line pressure with the car off.

Try cycling the key on, off, on, off, on then try to start it.

The fuel filter may be under the car near the rear axle.

Doesnt mean its your fuel filter, with a clogged fuel filter it will choke your engine when your going high speeds, not on startup.. unless its reallly clogged but then again gas these days its pretty rare to find a clogged up filter.Check your manual every car has a filter.

What year is yours?

No, believe it or not, not every car has a fuel filter. Example, 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Some may call the "strainer" in the fuel tank a filter, but its not your normal filter that gets maintained.

Anyway, you may have what is called fuel pressure bleed down. When you shut the engine off, fuel is supposed to stay pressurized in the fuel rail. But in some situations the fuel will drain back into the tank. Then when you go to start the engine, it takes longer because the fuel has to fill the line.

Also, some GM cars have a fuel pump relay that fails, GM uses the oil pressure switch as a back up. So when the oil pressure reaches a set amount, the fuel pump gets power.
