Both cv boots have been clicking for 5 months now? I thought a front wheel drive car doesn't have a whole axle, but a split instead? Like both cv joints? Whats the best thing for me to do? I live by a junk yard and they got honda civics laying around all the time. Do i take out a whole axle (not sure if fwd cars can do that) or just change both cv joints and boots? or something like that

I believe you have what is commonly referred to as half shafts and there's one on each side. If the cv joints are clicking, it may be possible to remove the boots, clean and lube the cv joints and install new boots. If this doesn't fix it, replace both half shafts. They're not that expensive and available at most any parts store.

if your buying from a junk yard you might as well just take the whole axle plus if you have been driving on bad axles for this long the shafts may be damaged and you could not get away with just changing the joints
