Does a cellphone have Caller-ID?

Okay so here is the issue.

I want to text someone but I am afraid that my name will show up. I want it to be anonymous. I dont care that they get my number i just dont want them knowing my name.

When i call ppl's house phone, my first and last name come up on landline caller id... so i was wondering if someone could possibly figure that information out by cellphone.

The reason your name comes up at friends landlines is that they programmed your info on their phone's caller id.
If you text someone that does not have your info, your name will not come up.
 
they wont neccissarily get your name, they would only get your name if you gave them your phone number so they can add you to their contacts. if you havent all that will be shown is your mobile number, so youll be fine
