dodge stratus clutch out?

I have a 2003 dodge stratus sxt coupe. 2.4 cylinder. My clutch went out. Or what i believe to be my clutch. Over the last 2 weeks it has been slipping bad, (not accelerating when i disengage the clutch). On my way home from work today it got extremely bad. I wasn't exceeding 20 mph. When finally nothing was happening, except RPM's. My question is: What's the best way to tackle this. Should I buy a clutch online myself to aviod mechanic over charging? Should I attempt to change the clutch myself. I'm mechanically inclinded enough to change a starter, or brakes. Small stuff like that. This, I assume, is a bit more difficult. Or is there another solution? i.e. Clutch adjustment? I just had the slave cylinder changed 6 mths ago. I know that's not the problem, cause I know the symptoms. If there are any logical answers, or a bit of advice someone could send my way it's appreciated. thanks for your time.
