...blinker still goes off? I think maybe this is a factory type deal that the dealership changes every time you get an oil change..

This is an automatic reminder to change your oil. It comes on approx. every 3,000 miles and must be reset each oil change. How to reset the reminder? Each car is different and you should find that information in your owners manual. My car that has that feature uses the trip mileage meter. You reset the reminder by turning the key on, without starting the car and pushing and holding the trip reset button for 5 seconds, a bell will ring telling you that you are finished, til the next time.
