Dodge Ram 1500 Fuel Tank?

I own a good running 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 v8. Recently I've been smelling gas and then when I tried filling up the tank the entire fuel tank cracked. After bringing it to the autoshop they said I'll need a new tank (obviously). Only problem is after calling the dealer they said the part has been discontinued and if I really wanted one it'll be about three months. Also a fine search through local shops and the junk yard there are absolutely no fuel tanks.

Any advice?

and if I cannot get the tank how can i go about getting rid of the truck?
 
if you like the truck there's no need to get rid of it,try this web site ,they deal strictly in dodge parts and will have or will find you a tank to fit that truck,even advance auto parts has access to new ones to fit that truck,good luck, http://partstrain.com
