dodge ram 1500 4.7l long or short headers?

i have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 4.7L and i would like to put a nice set of headers on it. i already have custom side exhaust (flowmaster 40 series dual chamber & a AEM brute force intake). my first question is what is the difference between long tube headers and shorty headers? also will this improve my sound quality and loudness? and what would use recommend for my truck i would like to put a cam in it eventually if that makes a difference..

short headers improve in performance and sound on those but are sometimes harder to make exhaust pipes for,but if it was me id go for short headers,i own one set on a 99 ram and like the way they sound,it was just harder and more expensive to get pipes made for it,good luck.
