Dodge Neon SRT-4 Gas?

So i have a question. I'm getting a SRT-4 fairly soon, and i was wondering which fuel do i use. i read in on a conversation earlier. Saying runnin on 87 octane is fine. Others were calling him stupid because the SRT4 is meant to run on 91 or higher, and that 87 would bring alot of knocking and its just shit for your engine, etc. Just back and forth. I really need to know which octane is the BEST for the car. Itll be my everyday driver, having some fun with people here and there. I dont mind putting 91octane in it, but its just that gas is getting so expensive...and if im just wasting money when i could put lower octane in without any consequences...but anyways, thanks in advance. Please reply if you REALLY know what your talking about lol
