Dodge Intrepid Going Into "Limp-In" Mode. Little Help?

Long story short - My 2002 Dodge Intrepid ES (3.5L V6) began shifting rough and entering "limp-in mode." I took it to a VERY trusted mechanic who ran diagnostics, pulling 2 codes for 1) a shift solenoid stuck in low reverse and 2) low fluid pressure at the valve body. He was certain it was a solenoid...but pulled the tranny pan and found glitter-like shavings (he showed this to me without knowing I would show up to look...sure enough, my fluid was quite glittery). It was my torque converter!

Now, $1,600 later, I have a new torque converter, solenoid pack, and a flushed transmission (which, as my mechanic stated, looked WONDERFUL when it was completed). Here's the problem:

The thing has been BACK in the shop twice for the same problem. Engine light....BUMP!....limp-in. Today...it has happened for the third time. They have recalibrated the computer, but it hasn't done the trick. What the hell is going on?!?!?!?

P.S...."it's a Chrysler product" is not an acceptable answer....and is just plain mean :-(

The first thing i would do , Is call the chrysler dealer ship and see if there are any recalls on it,,, You will need to have the VIN id number handy, they will run it through the computor,, If im not mistaken they had a recall on the instermint cluster. And it caused a problem simular to that,, It's been a while so I don't remember for sure,,,
