2005 dodge dakota 98K
3.7L/Auto transmission

cranks great, does not start
with starting fluid it cranks right up and runs normal until it runs out of juice.
MAP sensor is fine, no vacuum leaks anymore
Fuel Pressure is 58 PSI when fuel pump kicks on, I do not know factory specs, is that good?
No restrictions in the exhaust, no kinks in the fuel lines

ASD relay, fuel pump relay both swapped with working relays

I'm leaning towards fuel pump or bad fuel, but this thing is driving me nuts, any ideas??
thanks
car was run to empty and filled to half tank, started bogging out, then no start at all, It's not my truck and yes I always keep my vehicles above half tank

I have the same feeling you do.More than likely it is bad fuel because if the fuel pump kicks on and bring it up to 58psi that means the pump is working and there is fuel. So the fuel probably has water built up in it if it has ethanol and has been sitting

well seeing that you get the right fuel psi i would rule out the fuel pump and seeing that it runs on starting fluid the ignition is good i would point toward the injectors and not saying that they are bad i would say that you have and ecu problem i had the same problem with my dakota

that's probably not the pump pad on it,it may be the relay kicking out on it before it gets chance to start, you said it started when you use starting fluid then stopped that would be in the filter or the the relay, try changing the relay and then recheck the fuel pressure, that's about right for stock pressure on that truck,i got a 99 model that runs around 58-60 pounds, good luck .
