dodge Dakota motor swap?

i have a 93 dodge dakota long bed with a 3.9 v6. it is starting to rot on the frame so i cant drive it anymore. i bought a 96 dodge dakota with a valve tap and almost blown trans. this is also a 3.9 v6. so what im wondering is will both the motor and trans from the 93 work in the 96? or should i just junk both vechicles? i no there only v6es but i cant afford a new truck right now
