im a very small used car dealer and just bought a 2002 dakota crew cab 2 wheel drive v6, any way after driving for a little while (like 2 miles) it starts to slip (the drive train that is) the engine while in park rev's like its brand new. when driving down the street it will just..... well see ill be driving down the street and try to give it gas and nothing happens, like ill floor the petal and no response. and it kinda chocks up at sudden stop (all over the drive train that is). its not the transmission. i know its not because ive had and seen my good share of different transmission problems.

you are looking at the drive shaft its stripped out. if that is not it you are looking at the sensor on the inside of the tranny. it tells the tranny when to shift it maybe gungked up try changing the fluid and filter and while your in there change that sensor. that will do the trick. good luck
