I have a 1996 Dodge 3500 diesel truck whose starter shorted out. It burned up the starter and cylanoid. Both were replaced. Then about 4 months after they were replaced, the truck wouldn't start again. The cylanoid was replaced again, and it worked again without any problems. It's been 5 months since that replacement, and it again, won't start. A new cylanoid was bought, and put on. However, the truck won't start automatically. It can be manually started (by turning the key over, and pushing the cylanoid up). A faulty replacement cylanoid hasn't been ruled out, but is there anything else that could make it not start? And anything that would make a brand new cylanoid go bad so quickly? Thanks so much!

Starter may be drawing to many amps due to a battery that does not have enough cranking amps.If it turns too slowly it over heats the starter.Make sure the alternator is working properly and battery terminals have good clean connections.
