Doctor/Medicine Trouble

What can I do? Me, like most people went to the doctor because I was not sleeping. He never gave me sleeping pills; instead, he sent me to specialists. My heart doctor put me on aspirin which I never take. No one asked me why.
A few months later i was hospitalized for some unknown disturbance,

The surgeon took out my apendix and closed me up. The gastroenterologist did a laparoscopy and sautered my intestine and gave me prednisone and I went home and subsequently gained weight.

my heart specialist, my kidney specialist and my GP all kept me on the same medicines, except aspirin, of course, did not check my hospital records, did not suggest a proper diet, and generally ignored my original complaint. so, i stopped taking all my medications.

now i always have a question with no answers

should i talk to these people about sleeping pills and about a substitute for prednisone? Prednisone is causng weight gain (Prednisone is for pemphigus)

Well, I would imagine they would rather try to treat the cause of the sleeping issue rather than just covering it up with a sleeping pill. Just a question for clarification, have you tried any OTC sleep products - benedryl, etc?
