Slumber

I see with my eyes closed
a field of roses strecthed across the horizon
A plane lands, a stairway appears,
a millions of troops deboard that one plane
Brass buttons glimmer in the sun
gleaming in my eyes from a distance
I can't make out there features
but I hear their voices..... clearly.....
They're talking about their dreams
Dreams that will not be fulfilled hear on this plane
but, in the halls of the hearts of their families
Who dream about these daily, nightly,
while in the grasp of mournful slumber......
