Do you wear a helmet when you bike or not?

When riding your bike, beyond your own neighborhood, out on the city streets, do you wear a helmet or not?

Also, does anyone ever feel dorky wearing a helmet? I know that seems stupid but I feel like a lot of people, especially teens, think that wearing a helmet makes them look dumb.

Always, no matter where I ride. I'm too old to care if I look dorky, but as a teen I probably would refuse to wear one. Anyway, even in my neighborhood I wear one, or should say, especially in my neighborhood; you just never know when someone is gonna come around a corner in the wrong lane, pull out of a driveway without looking, turn right in front of you, or when a kid/dog/squirrel/cat is gonna run out in front of you.

The best part about helmets is that no one can see how horrible my hair looks in the morning as the helmet covers it all up!

Well I have two bikes. A hybrid (moutain/road) and a race bike. I always wear my helmet on my race bike no matter what speed I'm going or where I am. I use my hybrid for commuting so I'll admit i don't always wear my helmet. I do feel it looks a little dumb when I'm dressed in my casual clothes and my race helmet. However, I look fabulous with my helmet when I have my jersey and bike shorts on. Although, the main reason I don't wear my helmet on my hybrid is more complex than just looks. It has to do with the sun getting in my eyes and the helemt visor not being long enough. I wear a baseball cap and am still looking for good sport sunglasses.
