do you throw a hook with palm facing down or facing inwards?

in martial arts (e.g. barefisted) ??
in boxing (gloved) ??
street fight??
i've seen boxer throwing both by the way, why do they do this?
everyone is giving different answers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
